Chapter 3: Membership Setup — 3.6 Campaign Setup

Use Campaign Setup to create time-limited promotions for your loyalty members — like "Double Points Weekend" or "Birthday Month 20% Off". Campaigns run automatically between the dates you set and reward members based on your rules.

When to use this: When you want to run a points or rewards campaign for your members.

Prerequisites

  • Membership Groups exist for targeting
  • Campaign content/messaging prepared

Campaign List

📝 General Description

The Campaign list shows all loyalty campaigns with their type, status, and date range. Campaigns target member behaviour (earning loyalty rewards), while Promotions target pricing (item discounts). Both can run simultaneously.

3.6.3 Campaigns vs. Promotions

A common source of confusion — here's how to tell them apart:

AspectCampaignPromotion
AffectsLoyalty rewards (points, vouchers)Transaction pricing (discounts)
Applies toMembers onlyAll customers (or subset)
Visible at POSIn member's loyalty summaryAs a line-item discount on the receipt
ExampleEarn 2x points this weekendBuy 2 get 1 free

[!TIP] Running a Campaign and a Promotion at the same time is a powerful combination: customers get a price discount (Promotion) AND earn extra loyalty points (Campaign) in one visit. This maximises perceived value and encourages repeat visits.

How to Edit a campaign

  1. In the Campaign Setup page, find the campaign you want to change.

  1. Click the blue campaign name link. The edit form opens — it looks the same as the "Add New" form, but all fields are already filled in with the current values.

  1. Change the fields you need to update.

Step 3

  1. Click Save to apply your changes.

Step 4

Expected Result: The campaign is saved and ready to activate.

[!TIP] To make changes, just click the name of any campaign in the list — the same form opens with everything already filled in. Change what you need and click Save.

💡 Example

Example 1: Double Points Weekend

Setup:

  • Name: "Weekend Double Points"
  • Type: Points Multiplier (2x)
  • Start: Every Saturday, End: Every Sunday
  • Target: All membership groups

Result: Members earn 2x points on all Saturday–Sunday purchases — automatically applied, no cashier action needed.

Example 2: CNY Spend & Win Campaign

Setup:

  • Name: "CNY Ang Bao Voucher"
  • Type: Bonus Voucher
  • Dates: Jan 20 – Feb 15, 2026
  • Condition: Single transaction ≥ $88
  • Reward: $8 voucher (valid 30 days)
  • Target: Gold, Platinum, Diamond members only

Result: Gold+ members who spend $88 or more in one visit receive an $8 voucher automatically via SMS. The voucher can be redeemed on their next visit.

Example 3: Tier Upgrade Bonus

Setup:

  • Name: "Upgrade Reward: Gold"
  • Type: Level-Up
  • Dates: Year-round
  • Trigger: Member upgrades from Regular → Gold
  • Reward: 250 bonus points

Result: Every member who reaches Gold tier for the first time gets 250 welcome bonus points — in addition to the Welcome Points configured in the Membership Group.

[!NOTE] Campaign rewards are processed server-side and may not appear on the POS screen immediately. Members can view accumulated points and vouchers from their loyalty app or by checking with the cashier at the counter.

FAQ

Q: Why is the member not receiving points? A: Check that the member's group has benefit rules configured in Membership Benefit. Also verify the transaction qualifies (minimum spend, eligible products).

Q: Can I merge duplicate member records? A: This must be done by your system administrator. Contact support with both member IDs for assistance.

Q: How do I transfer a member to a different group? A: Edit the member record and change the Membership Group field. The change takes effect immediately.
